hiking the Y

So, my friend Heather, who graduated today...wahooo!!!! she had never hiked the Y in all four years she was here, so we were random, and hiked it one day. There were some pretty amazing views of the Valley.

Not quite the cutest picture of me, but it was freezing up there. I'm sitting on the white concrete of the Y.

We dressed like we were going snow camping...doesn't it look like we are well seasoned hikers?
We had fun though. thanks Heather!

our trip to nevada

Mom, dad, and I got to go to Nevada and see Toby, Lana, Abby and Grace. We got some quality kite flying in while we were in Battle Mountain. We got to celebrate both Abby and Grace's birthdays. Abby's is actually today...so Happy Birthday Abby!

There's Grace and Grandpa John flying Grace's red and orange kite. The girls were pretty excited.

and apparently...so were dad and Toby.....!

My temple project

For my Religion in the Home class, I had to create a religious object as my final project. So I decided to trace and draw the Seattle Temple and I put a quote about the family on there so I could get full points. I have to write a paper too, but I present this on Wednesday. I think it turned out pretty well. We bought a frame for it today and we'll have to put it up somewhere in our house.

Bodhe and Beckett's visit

We got to watch Bodhe and Beckett while Josh and Kristin ran their half-marathon on Saturday. We had lots of fun...we got to eat breakfast at the Cannon Center Cafeteria, because the boys wanted eggs and potatoes, which luckily they had! Then we came back to our house and watched Madagascar, and I fell asleep while Kevin and the boys watched the movie. It was such a nice day so we went outside to play frisbee and football. Kevin and Bodhe were the frisbee players, and Beckett and I were great football players.
Beckett and I had fun throwing the football...he's got a pretty good arm!

Bodhe does amazing at throwing and catching a frisbee. We were impressed! Thanks for coming Bodhe and Beckett!

Our Candy Shrine

Since Kevin gives out candy to the dealerships he advertizes his Insurance business, we buy quite a bit...about $250 worth every two weeks. It gets reimbursed...thank goodness! It fits nicely into Kevin's closet.

We have about every kind of candy you can think of...and they all have the company's label on them saying, "Wanna sweet deal....call..." It's kind of tempting sometimes to have a candy store in Kevin's closet.

If you can't see, I'll name all the kinds we have: Reese's peanut butter cups, Reese's sticks, Swedish Fish, Snickers, Almond Snickers, Kit Kats, Heath bars, Mentos, butterfingers, almond joys, peanut butter twix, starbursts, 3 musketeers, milky ways, twizzlers nibs, peanut m&m's, baby ruth, paydays, rolos, skor bars, tic tacs, junior mints, gum, what-you-call-its, and fruit snacks. So yeah...kinda crazy!

My Pizza Party for Cleaning Checks

So for my March cleaning checks, I offered to my 180 residents that if they'd pass the first time, they could get pizza. Well, about 120 or so of them actually cleaned...much more than I expected. So we got to buy pizza for all of them! Thank goodness for our meal plan. We had 17 2-liters of pop and 25 pizzas! Kinda ridiculous...

This is what about 20 of my boys polished off in about 25 minutes....they enjoyed it!

Kevin was helping me deliver the rest to people who couldn't come to the party. He's so nice....and buff!
