So, i turned 24 this week, on June 5th, and i had a great birthday. Kevin wouldn't tell me what we were going to do, so i was surprised, and had a lot of fun. our camera is still currently not working, so no pictures still.
i came home from class to find a clue on my bedside table that said this:
1. If you wish to be a spy, you must learn to spy with your eyes...and brain...so you must spy out your spy guide, by solving my clever rhymes. your next rhyme be in the case of a wonderful game which derives its name from the angels of fame. (i love the Bourne series of movies, so Kevin decided to do a spy hunt for me to find him somewhere in Provo)
Answer: the Halo case had clue number 2
2. You haven't eaten me for days, yet i'm often in your gaze, suddenly and underneath i'm feeling international and aquatic today.
A: (I haven't been eating sugar, but i went to kev's candy closet and found Swedish Fish, with clue number 3 underneath the box)
3. The masonry of Heritage is amazing it seems, yet there be one little flaw recently displayed to me.
A: the brick walls by our stairwells, had one brick that you can pull out, so kev hid the clue number 4 behind it. i had to pull out the brick and look behind it and pull out the envelope, and i felt like i was on National Treasure
4. Media, precious media, i love observing #9 lobby media, yet often while i stare my eyes catch a sudden glare forcing my eyes down.
A: we live in building #9 and have a lobby tv, but unfortunately, between the time kev planned this and i did this, the EFY kids had stolen the lobby tv, so this one was hard for me to figure out...but the envelope was under the tv stand.
5. When i'm at my computer all i see is green, the place to your next clue be right in front of me.
A: There is a huge green tree in front of our window, and on kev's computer screen, it had arrows pointing up, so you would look out the window and see the next clue in the tree
6. There is an edifice, or so i've heard, which displays the last half of the name, of a man who forges weapons from metals for gain, on its face be two grids both two by sixteen, in the lower up two over four, you will find me.
A. this was M. Smith building, on the windows that are actually 2 x 8, but it's okay, and i found the envelope taped to the window
7. athletic competition anyone? there is someplace nearby, where i dangle from a chord strapped some ten shoe lengths high.
A: he had the envelope dangling by dental floss on the basketball hoop (10 feet high)
8. Not Poacher, Not Bo-Dash, but _________; watch out the sun is in your eyes.
A: Gonch, our car. these three names are the names to Booker's snake family, which inspired the name we chose for our car: Gonch the Galant Griffin. the envelope was on the sun visor as you pulled it down
9. To arrive at your next destination, you'll need this shiny car, in all the shining seas you'll always see a star, but never a star that creates such a terrible withdrawal, oh and don't forget a spanish 20 for me too please. once this objective has been complete, you may receive the location of your next clue by telephone texting me.
A: Starbucks hot chocolate, venti (spanish 20); one for me and kev
10. I'm running low, i need some more to keep going, remember when kevin took me to the camping race and then he washed this part of me and i sprayed him in the face.
A. it was in the gas tank; kev had tried to pressure wash this with the little gas door thing open and got sprayed and i laughed
11. the name of a mission friend mixed with that of nobility, be the place where you hear so many stories from your nativity, but it is also where you will find me and where you'll receive your guide to unraveling espionage mystery.
A: Barnes and Noble, and kev had bought me my spy guide: the first book in the Bourne series.
some of those clues were really hard for me, but kev helped me figure them out, and it was fun. then kev surprised me with my first massage, and he got one too, but it was fun. we had birthday pizza and then saw Indiana Jones. the best part was that neither of us had to work and we got to spend the whole day together, and it was relaxing and fun, and Kevin planned it for me. it was a great 24th birthday!
