Josh's Birthday weekend

While Josh (my brother) and Kristin (my sister-in-law) put on a cross-country race and went to the football game on Josh's birthday, Kevin and I got to hang out with my two nephews. They were so cute and fun. The big excitement for this trip was Fifel becoming the boys' pet. They had a lot of fun playing with him, and Fifel has a great home now...thanks Crystal for keeping him the last two weeks.
Bodhe and I made a sign and cupcakes for Josh's sort of surprise birthday...i thought he was 32, and apparently i can't count, because he turned 33. oh well. the cupcakes were scrumptious and Bodhe was a great helper.

Kevin took the boys to feed the ducks quite a bit of bread. i think they enjoyed it, one of the ducks got a little feisty and bit Beckett's hand a little as he was trying to get the bread.

I think after that, Beckett liked the ducks to stay in the water...:)

We played my favorite, and only, video game i've ever bought....Wheel of Fortune. We used to have it when i was little on our Apple IIE computer that took forever for Vanna to walk across the stage. This one is good.
We had a lot of fun with Josh and Kristin and the boys, and are excited to spend Thanksgiving in Colorado!

i baked something for real!

So, i was inspired by Pres. Monson's daughter's talk at our Stake conference broadcast, about her rolls that she made...the talk was on real vs. counterfeit, and she used the example of real rolls vs. counterfeit rolls. and since we eat a lot of counterfeit rolls in our house...kevin and i love pillsbury crescent rolls, i thought i'd make the real thing this last weekend.

this was my first attempt making rolls from scratch, but it was fun. and they tasted pretty good too. my residents next door made a big deal about how good they smelled, so i brought them over some that night, and i got a big sign on my door saying: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! so anyways. i was domestic and it turned out well. wahoo.

our weekend...part 2

So on Saturday night, Sunday morning, at midnight, my RA brought us a hamster, and said it was left on the stairs in one of my three buildings, and no one was claiming it. There are no pets allowed in on-campus housing. but Kevin and i kept him, and named him Fifel, until we could find him a home.
We felt bad because he was brought to us in a shoe box and was shaking and scared, and when we put the top on, he scratched the box trying to get out, and then he just stopped moving, so we felt terrible and went to Walmart at 12:10am to try to find him a cage. we found this one, and over the course of the three days we had him, bought him a ball to run around in, as well as all the food and everything that he needs. we took the wheel off because he was turning it into his nest and it didn't look healthy.

We were happy to see that Fifel was happy. This is about 1am on Sunday morning.

This is when my RA first brought him by.

You can watch this video of Fifel in his ball; he cruises around pretty fast, and we only got a little bit of him. He did this for 1.5 hours at a time, and then would take a 3 hour nap, and do it again. it was fun to have him, but he's going to Josh's house in a week, so Crystal, my friend, has him temporarily. Bye Fifel!!!

our fun weekend...part 1

These are my cute nieces: Grace and Abby. They get to come visit me during football games, and I love it!

We went to two pet stores, held a bunny, and then went to Chuck E. Cheese where we got more tokens than we were planning on, but we had fun spending them, and earning them.

Grace couldn't quite reach the pedals on this game, but she still did pretty well.

We played this one, where you roll the balls up into the top of the machine and it gives you points based upon which hole it goes in, for about 20 minutes.

Kevin tuned Grace's Hannah Montana guitar for her, and was so excited to play it....haha. Thanks for coming girls and Toby and Lana!!!
