mobile madness

Channing is doing well...he's kind of just hanging out while tests come back. He was ready to go home this morning and then they found another bloody stool, so they are doing a scope of his colon tomorrow and will determine where to go from there. they are still hoping to send him home in the next few days...so hopefully we still move this weekend. it all depends on what they find tomorrow...they are expecting just to see inflammation, which would explain the blood and then they'd either give him some medicine to help with the swelling or just leave it alone. they have to rule out more serious things before they send him home, which is good.

in the meantime, Channing got his first full mobile, not just the music part over his bed, and he loved it! These are all pictures of him looking at the mobile.

Take 2...

Okay...so we were very happy to have Channning home with us, but 24 hours or not, we had fun. Now it's back to the hospital with a potential infection, but we are hoping it's only a short stay and that everything is fine.

Last night, he'd been doing great, and then we found blood in his stools, which with all of his GI problems, could be more serious than in other infants. So the on-call doctor told us to go back to the hospital in Salt Lake. We waited in the emergency room for about 2 1/2 hours for a doctor to see us, and then it took a few more hours to get him admitted back to his former room, which was still available, and worked out nicely.

Right now, he has no more blood in his stools, the doctors aren't sure what caused it, but are running some more tests that will be back in the next few days, so he'll hang out there for a few more days at least, and then if nothing is wrong, he'll most likely come home. if they find another infection, it could be back to no eating/antibiotics depending on the infection. we are hoping it's just a one-time thing and something easily fixed, but it will all work out. If Heavenly Father wants/needs Channing to be there for a few more weeks or a month more, then we'll do it. But it can never hurt to hope for the best...right?...:)

How are we?: Kevin and I are doing well. it was hard and a bit scary to bring him back to the hospital where he's been all of his life until the other day, but overall, after much needed sleep, we are doing well. it's hard to leave him there when he's hungrier than normal because they had to decrease his feeds after not letting him eat for half the day just in case it could negatively affect his tummy with possible infections, but they are letting him eat now until further notice. he is a bit fussier than normal but overall is doing well, and is such a trooper. it's funny...he sleeps better in the hospital than at home...it's too quiet at home...:)

We will continue to update as we can, and hope that Channing doesn't have an infection! Please keep him in your prayers....thanks!

Josh and Kristin are having a baby, so....

WE ARE GETTING YOUR NEW LITTLE BABY A BRAND NEW PUPPY!!! (by the way this is Kevin typing and this is my idea so I claim all credit, praise, and accountability for the following images) We have been searching for a new doggy for many months now and have narrowed it down to three beautiful little puppies:


Number one is Fluffy, who is known for his big teeth and heart. Fluffy here is partially blind, so feeds can be a little scary. Declare yourself his owner and wear a chain mail shark suit and you should be just fine. He is also very fond of playing fetch, if he can see the ball. Bright colors are good:




Number two is Killer. Killer is very playful as you can see and loves to play tag. Face tag. He has been trained by police so is very obedient... as long as you have a night stick and a gun. He's a real joy for any time of year.





Number three is Rufus. Rufus is cute but isn't potty trained so he goes to the bathroom EVERYWHERE! He's snuggly, and nice but could turn out to be a mean dog someday so going with option number one or two might be a safer bet.





So there are your choices, one of these three lovely animals will be the newest member of your family. Let us know which one you pick!! We also want to clarify that by buying these dogs for you we mean email you a picture of them... we don't really have any dogs. Sorry Bodhe, I know you had your heart set on Killer.

Things I am grateful for...

One of our friends has this on her blog and I like to read it, so i thought i'd share a few things i'm grateful for, in no special order:

• our sweet little boy and how well he's doing
• of course...my amazing husband who does so much to help out and support me
• my first mother's day present from Channing via his dad
• loving family members who do all they can to support us and take care of us
• great friends and ward members who have shown their love and concern for us during this time in many different ways
• a very flexible job and great people to work with
• temples and priesthood blessings and the gospel with the peace it brings in our lives
• a very good hospital and staff to take care of Channing's needs and technology needed to help him be healthy
• getting to move closer to family soon
• cameras that work and document special times for our family
• there are many more that i'm forgetting, but we are very grateful for many things at this time

home

It has been so fun to have Channing home. We are adjusting to his eating/sleeping schedule, which has been interesting sometimes, but overall we are doing great. Here is a little monkey gym mat that has a mobile above it that we got from our friends, the Millers. Channing liked it...he fell asleep, and Kev took some really cute pictures of him.

52 days later...

Yesterday, Channing got to come home from the hospital for the first time...after 52 days! We were so excited to take him home and are so grateful he is healthy enough to do so. We had to document the fact that he has nothing on him...even heart monitors...in this picture.


He's such a curious little guy. His arm is red where a bandage was taken off..just FYI...he's fine..:)

If his tummy looks big here, it's because he had just eaten.


Laying on the scale after he was weighed so we could dress him easier. He weighs about 8 lbs. 13-14 oz. So he's doing great!






Kevin picked out his going home outfit as soons as he was born...but we had to wait 7 weeks to put it on him, but here it is:

His little bear hoodie from his grandma Laurel, and his little brown pants with the footies on it from his grandma Julie, and a cute little blue onesie.

He loves hoodies because he's so warm in them. We are so happy to have Channing home, and want to thank everyone for their love and support. Yay for Channing!

baby shower!

Jacque and I threw a baby shower for our friend, Autumn, last weekend. She's the one on the left in this picture, and we are super excited for her baby girl being born in June! We had great attendance and Autumn had lots of friends and family member there to support her, and she got some very cute and thoughtful gifts.


I found this in the Twinkie Cookbook online, and wanted to try it. They are fruit kabobs with Little Debbie Swiss Rolls on them. they were good!


I made little pink cupcakes that had "Baby Girl Linford" on them.

I think they turned out cute!

Just to clarify...Autumn has not had her baby in this picture...but is holding a friend's baby...:)

mother's day

we took some pictures for our mamas of Channing in his first outfits. We didn't post them until now so we could make sure our moms were the first to see them. here's a few of our favorites of him:

those overalls are so big on him, but he's still gaining weight like crazy so we're excited! he weighs about 8 lbs. 11 oz now.
